Tides and Currents

Attached are course notes I prepared for a presentation on tides and currents. They give the usual, practical rules of thumb (e.g. the rule of twelfths) with some examples. Perhaps some day I'll make the drawings more professional, but don't hold your breath - unless you're underwater. The oral presentation that accompanies these notes fills in some blanks and disconnects in the written material, but I'm unlikely to add that. There are various practical books available within the kayaking community that are more comprehensive, but these notes provide a start.
