Lake Pend Oreille is not the only paddling destination that this web site will mention. There are many other interesting places. Of course, paddling on our largish lake does not compare to the sea, where discoveries often lie around the next point of land.

The upper photo was taken on a trip in the Broken Group Islands off Vancouver Island's west coast. Note the snow remaining on the mountains of Vancouver Island in the background (July 2010). The lower photo was taken, earlier the previous year, in the Georgia Strait off Nanaimo. There you can see that the mainland's coastal mountain range is much higher in comparison.
